This sculpture, placed on the floor, includes a digital display and a reflective surface to create a holographic avatar. A live camera installed on top of the structure captures the seated body and displays two avatars, one in real time, the other slightly delayed. A cushion is positioned in front of the piece, functioning both as a place to sit and as part of the installation’s logic of shared presence. The work is part of an ongoing research into how power, control, and surveillance circulate through human, digital, and object bodies.
This work was part of my MA exhibition “ I Will Become a Flower and Sit Next to you”, Ana Mendieta Gallery, Visual Arts Building, University of Iowa
